Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
The Cyber Security Intern is responsible for supporting the security and systems team in improving the security and integrity of our technology operations and products
Reporting to the Compliance Program Manager, this role will be supporting the advancement of the security posture of Global Industrial in several areas
* Support in achieving security compliance in addition to other regulatory and compliance needs
* Creation of security workflows and best practices
* Work in security documentation
* Assist in building technical and functional requirements to configure and deploy security tools and technologies
* Assist in developing standard operating procedures and trainings for each technology
* Architect and continuously improve security technology stack, process and procedures, support model and cross-function interactions
* Help define procedures to validate the effectiveness of the design, deployment, and management of security controls that aim to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of security technology stack

Competencies and skills
  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Cyber or Information Security, Data Science, Information Technology, Risk Management or related field
  • Have a deep interest in pursuing a career in security or risk including vulnerability assessment, intrusion/ threat detection, digital investigations, mobile device management, log analysis, identity and access management, monitoring, endpoint security, security compliance and control and security advocacy
  • Experience using one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, etc.)
  • Familiarity with source code management tools (e.g., Github, Bitbucket)
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a fast-paced work environment
