Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hardware and Operating System Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of order fulfillment processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and actively contributing to various technology projects within the organization. This multifaceted position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from meticulous inventory management to hands-on involvement in technology initiatives. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, exhibiting a keen eye for detail, strong technological acumen, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities
    Pick and pack inventory items according to established procedures.
  • Track orders throughout the fulfillment process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Unpack received shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders.
  • Conduct thorough quality assessments of hardware components and products.
  • Identify and document any defects or discrepancies in the received inventory
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain high product standards.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems on various computing devices.
  • Manage the installation and updates of applications and drivers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems and applications.
  • Ensure project tasks are completed within specified timelines and adhere to quality standards.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to order fulfillment and inventory management.
  • Document all steps taken in the order fulfillment process for reference and auditing purposes.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional)
  • 1-year prior experience in a technical support role or a similar capacity.
  • Basic SCCM knowledge with ability to image computers, load software, drivers, network printers, execute Windows updates
  • Strong familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and configurations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing technology and a willingness to learn new skills.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • IT or Computer Science Bachelor's degree or similar related degree
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance with the Department of Veterans Affairs
Physical Demands
  • Physical ability to lift and carry computer equipment and perform basic hardware installations.
  • Stay on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be capable of working in a high tempo and high traffic work environment.
