AES Clean Energy (AES) is currently seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal to assist the development efforts as a member of AES's Legal Team. The Legal Team, in coordination with the Real Estate and Land Acquisition teams, is responsible for development and financing of AES's real estate rights related to utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects throughout the United States. The successful candidate will work on the Real Estate team, reporting to Real Estate Legal Counsel.

Remote work is available for this position, with the opportunity to work from one of AES Clean Energy offices in Salt Lake City, UT; Louisville, CO; San Francisco, CA; Long Beach, CA; or Richmond, VA.

This role will require a high level of detail orientation, as well as strong communication and organizational skills. We are seeking a self-directed professional with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and on multiple tasks and projects. The candidate will be responsible for working with the Legal Team in preparing draft legal documents, assisting with time sensitive project closings, assisting with management and completion of legal requests, and other miscellaneous project and administrative tasks. The position holds room for growth in the exciting and expanding field of renewable energy development.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience required, work experience as a paralegal is a plus
  • Paralegal certificate, or comparable educational background is a plus
  • Background working with legal documents, real property closings and title and survey review is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Passion for renewable energy development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal communication skills

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $60,000 and $76,500/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
