Job Summary

Know the pleasure of being responsible for only yourself and your truck while on the road driving to and from customer locations. This is a full-time position that includes pick-up and delivery of linen from and to customer sites. Our drivers enjoy a newer fleet of Freightliner trucks with A/C and many other comforts of home while on the road. Our entire fleet is full maintenance leased trucks so they are in tip top shape

Schedule
Up To Date Laundry company operates on weekends and most major holidays, and some departments are open 24/7. This position may be scheduled for a specific shift and may require weekend and/or holiday work. Holiday pay is available.

Driver Responsibilities
- Operates commercial motor vehicle, to and from customer, and abides by all DOT regulations.
- Develops and maintains excellent customer service standards and relationships
- Properly loads and unloads securement according to company policies, safe work practices, and FMCSA regulations
- Pushes and pulls linen carts weighing several hundred pounds
- Clearly and effectively communicates with customers, team members, and management
- Inspects vehicles and prepare inspection reports according to company policies, State and Federal regulations
- Prepares and maintains documentation of hours of service, delivery reports, and bills of lading
Driver Requirements
- Minimum six months experience
- Current Class B or C license issued by the State of Maryland.
- No restrictions other than for corrective lenses
- No more than two at fault accidents in the last three years
- No major violations in the last five years
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate
Physical Requirements
- Sit and drive company vehicles
- Climb up and down out of the cab of company vehicles
- Stand and walk throughout the shift while loading and unloading company vehicles
- Use arms and hands to reach and grasp carts of clean linen to move them on and off company vehicles
- Push linen carts linen weighing between 60 lbs. to 600 lbs. on and off company vehicles and throughout the plant on a daily basis.
