Job Description

As the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Analyst, you will work with limited supervision performing data analytics on specialized reports on food safety, sanitation inspections, and data trending for assigned airport restaurant locations. Operate as the primary analyst intimately familiar with the information and evaluation of internal data for food safety and health inspections, audit and complaint metrics, status of corrective actions, and trends and projections. The position reports directly to the Director, Food Safety and Quality Assurance.

  • This position requires up to 30% travel throughout the US and Canada

Essential Functions

  • Work with limited supervision to perform analysis and deliver specialized reports on food safety, sanitation inspections, and overall quality controls for assigned airport restaurant locations to reduce operational risk, primarily in the US.
  • Operate as the primary analyst intimately familiar with the information and evaluation of internal data for food safety and health inspections, audit and complaint metrics, status of corrective actions, and trends and projections.
  • Maintain the integrity and access rights of the food safety assessment database. Evaluate inspection reports of all locations, identifying and providing data to resolve corrective actions, compliance with company standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that corrective actions to internal inspections closed out by the airport meets food safety integration of operational procedures, human behaviors, food management, ingredients, processes, materials, finished products, etc. to resolve the identified hazard.
  • Enforce compliance with official formulas, procedures, and appropriate policy positions issued by the company.
  • Submit the inspection billing for closing out the inspection invoice to the appropriate airport location.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Required to have successful completion of a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in microbiology, epidemiology, food science, chemistry, or another related field.
  • Minimum of (5) years professional experience in a position of similar complexity, scope, size, security, and impact (i.e., restaurant, manufacturing, commercial airports, etc.) in compliance with the FDA Food Code, (e.g., Preventive Controls Rule for Human Food). Minimum of (3) years of experience performing remote and on-site analysis in quality assurance, food safety, sanitation.
  • Ability to read and interpret food safety documents such as audit inspections, assessments, complaints, trend reports, safety and operational rules, and procedure manuals. Proven ability to adhere to/comply with established Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) for data integration and improving food safety culture across a business unit or an organization.
  • Strong business acumen with a desire to make a positive impact on the business; highly motivated to take ownership of assigned roles and to improve upon using data for driving continual improvement.
  • Ability to pass/maintain security pass clearance and other job-related background checks.
