Director of Business Operations

What You'll Do: As the Director of Business Operations Financial Planning and Analysis (DOBO) you will be responsible for high-level operational finance leadership, as well as performing hands-on day-to-day, support to the operations team, supporting/leading financial modeling, forecasting, cash flow performance, audit support, business development process, overall margin performance, and cost control. Building a high-performance team, training and development are also key aspects of the position.

You will bring in and implement best practices to support our financial planning, analysis, business operations and pricing policies and processes and policies.You will interact with all functional and operational organizations The DOBO will closely partner with Managing Directors and other members of the executive leadership team, and Parent Company, as well as with other stakeholders/customers in driving the company in its strategy to pursue growth, operational excellence, delivery of all services on contract commitments and future acquisitions.

This role requires a seasoned and accomplished leader with substantial business and financial expertise along with proven performance within government services programs and profitable delivery.

About you:

You'll be a good fit for the role of DOBO if you have:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field, with minimum fifteen years of experience with financial planning, analysis, Operations and Pricing in a government contracting setting is a must.
Proven track record of driving financial performance
Experience building high performance teams
Ability to adapt to changing and fast-paced environments
Support in person work environment as appropriate
Operate with uncompromised level of integrity and transparency
Strong analytical and communication skills are required, with solid project planning and people management experience.
Individual must be a proactive problem-solver and strong team player.
Strong back in Government Accounting ERP systems (Costpoint and or Unanet), Unanet experience is preferred
Requires a strong knowledge and experience with FAR compliance, CAS compliance, DCAA compliance, and GAAP compliance.
Understanding of financial statements and ability to interpret and evaluate profit and loss statements and balance sheets relevant to operations; proficiency in Unanet a plus. Software proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must.

The DOBO will collaborate closely with all key involved stakeholders and leadership team members to develop priorities and plans to meet company goals in a balanced manner. In addition, the DOBO will be a key member of the finance organization responsible for developing and monitoring the internal control systems required to protect the company plus to meet rigorous compliance requirements. The DOBO will bring an experienced, professional business process and systems mentality into a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

You will lead, develop, and manage the FP&A, Pricing and Project Control team to meet monthly closing deadlines; provide effective staff training and oversight. This includes:
Work closely with the Director of Accounting on monthly closing requirements to include revenue recognition, cost and expense reporting, P&L, balance sheet, (receivables, backlog, etc.) in accordance with GAAP and internal and external reporting requirements.
Develop strategic and tactical pricing processes and procedures to ensure best in class pricing responses to RFPs
Support responses to external and internal audit requests to include annual incurred cost submissions.
Lead Line Organization reporting to support annual budgets (sales and indirect), monthly forecasts, and associated financial analysis
Maintaining an efficient cost control system, which monitors and controls contractual direct costs and associated indirect costs including margin analysis.
Preparing reports and presenting findings and recommendations to management. Monitors/reports on business performance at multiple levels and in response to adhoc reporting. Proactive communication of actual or potential trends and materiel events.
Executing and strengthening internal controls, business practices and financial infrastructure to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of resultant reporting.
Stand up and lead contract set up department. Implement a contract set up process to ensure contract is accurately trackable and billable
Work closely with peers across the corporation to implement company-wide initiatives. Participate in forums to improve systems and financial performance.
Understands and appreciates the competitive landscape in our sector markets of DHS, DOD and/or Fed/Civ to support our bidding practices.
Lead the FP&A organization. This includes establishing rates to be competitive, managing DCAA audit reporting to include the yearly budget submissions, Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS); monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements. Create the monthly reporting package for internal and external reporting.
Lead and work with others in the process of improving our use of our ERP System (Unanet) to ensure we are using all capabilities of the system
Work side by side with the Director of Accounting on the evaluation of our accounting processes and use of Unanet related to cost capture, cost allocations and rates development.
